Tata Nano at Goodyear

On Friday May 14th, the Tata Nano and the Tata Technologies Better Innovation Tour participated in Goodyear’s Innovation Day in Akron, Ohio.  Goodyear is an amazing company of nearly 70,000 people worldwide.  Famous in racing for it’s historical record of success, Goodyear prides itself on innovation.  Back in January, at the Detroit Science Center, David Acnkaert, Director of Advanced Concepts for Goodyear attended Tata Technologies Better Innovation event and requested the participation of the Better Innovation team at Goodyear’s Innovation Day event.

The Innovation Day event is very important to Goodyear and this year was attended by CEO Rich Kramer and his executive team.  At the event, Goodyear inventors and patent recipients were acknowledged and rewarded for their contributions.  One person in particular had obtained over 200 such patents – simply amazing!

The Nano and Tata Technologies approach to “Frugal Engineering” were presented by Warren Harris, President and COO and Kevin Noe, CMO.  An audience of over 300 witnessed the presentation and then had a chance to see and check out the Nano.  Frugal Engineering concepts are critical for companies who want to market and sell products in emerging economy nations so the lessons learned and product outcomes were very interesting and appreciated by the Goodyear team.
